The Healthy, Happy Collaborative Striving to Achieve

15 Mar 2016

The Healthy Towns working group has been meeting monthly since late 2014 to develop the Healthy Towns concept, strategy, brand identity and marketing materials. Current members of the group include academics and students from University of the Sunshine Coast and Griffith University; community development workers from Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Council and Caloundra Community Centre and Project Officers from Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN. With a wealth of experience in community based health promotion, the group is passionate about exploring innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the health and wellbeing needs of local communities. They believe Healthy Towns will make a difference to the lives of rural and regional residents by building on the existing strengths and resources which make people healthier and happier.

The group had a celebratory lunch this month in to celebrate the launch of Healthy Towns. A very exciting chapter for the collaborative.

Healthy Towns acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respect to them and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
